There has been a lot of casting news coming through recently on the latest instalment of the Final Destination franchise, Final Destination 5 or 5nal Destination if you prefer.

Now JoBlo are carrying news that Emma Bell has been cast as the female lead in the film, which is scheduled to begin shooting mid-September in Vancouver, Canada for a 3D release in late August 2011.

Emma Bell is, in perhaps the least surprising development for a film from this franchise, very attractive but relatively unknown. She has done some TV work in “Dollhouse”, “Law & Order”, “The Walking Dead” and “Ghost Whisperer” and also appears in this year’s low-budget thriller “Frozen”. Emma Bell now joins Tony Todd, David Koechner, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta and PJ Byrne and will presumably be the character who has a premonition of impending doom, this time of the collapse of a suspension bridge.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
