Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for ‘Eleanor The Great,’ marking the highly anticipated directorial debut of Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson.
The heartwarming yet darkly comedic drama stars June Squibb in what’s already being hailed as a career-defining performance, alongside Erin Kellyman, Jessica Hecht, Rita Zohar and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
‘Eleanor The Great’ follows spirited 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein (Squibb), a woman who has always prided herself on staying connected to the people and world around her. But after a devastating personal loss, Eleanor decides to leave her Florida home and move to New York City to live with her daughter and grandson, hoping to rekindle family ties. Instead, she finds herself lonelier than ever—until a chance encounter at a support group sets off an unexpected chain of events.
When Eleanor tells a story that takes on a dangerous life of its own, she suddenly becomes the centre of attention she never sought. As a young journalism student (Kellyman) befriends her and pushes for more, Eleanor is forced to confront the boundaries between truth and fiction—and face the deeper truths she’s spent a lifetime avoiding.
