To celebrate the release of Eenie Meanie, the new high-speed thriller starring Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) and Karl Glusman (The Running Man), we had the pleasure of chatting with them and writer/director Shawn Simmonds to find out more.
Edie (Samara Weaving), once a teenage getaway driver, has left her criminal past behind. But when her former boss offers her a deal to save her unreliable ex-boyfriend’s life, she’s pulled back into the high-speed world she thought she’d escaped.
First, we chat with Weaving and Glusman as they dive into their hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from Eenie Meanie! From first-time driving lessons gone wrong, on-set pranks, and Polaroid moments covered in blood, to finding the heart of their unique relationship on screen, this interview is packed with laughter, chaos, and charm. Discover how the cast brought this wild new thriller to life, why Samara had to quickly learn how to drive, and the fun dynamic that made working with Karl unforgettable.
Next, writer/director Simmonds tells us about insisting on practical car chases instead of CGI, working with legendary stunt coordinator Paul Jennings (Reacher, Mission: Impossible), casting Weaving and Glusman and revealing why their chemistry and emotional range made them perfect for this gritty yet heartfelt story.
Eenie Meanie is released on Disney+ in the UK on August 22nd. It streams in the US on Hulu.
