Ed-WestwickBest known for his work on Gossip Girl as the undeniably brilliant Chuck Bass, Ed Westwick has entered talks to board Sony’s genre movie, The Kitchen Sink.

The movie is a monster mash-up, set to see a group of teenagers forming an alliance with vampires and zombies in order to take on an army of aliens.

Nicholas Braun, Mackenzie Davis, and Josh Fadem take the lead alongside Chris Zylka and Denis Leary, with Vanessa Hudgens close to joining the cast in a key role.

If all goes well, Westwick is to play a smooth-talking vampire that wants to make Mackenzie Davis’ character his latest bloody conquest.

Robbie Pickering (Natural Selection) is at the helm for his sophomore feature, directing from a Black List script penned by Oren Uziel, with Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man) producing.

Uziel has been set by Sony to rewrite the 21 Jump Street sequel, 22 Jump Street; and he has also been tapped to write Men in Black 4 for them. Clearly, the studio are placing a lot of faith in his work, so whilst it’s early days yet, expect The Kitchen Sink to be a possible franchise-starter over at Sony.

Most recently seen in Gossip Girl up to its conclusion, Westwick will be returning to cinemas this October in Carlo Carlei’s Romeo and Juliet, starring as Tybalt alongside Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth.
