RoboCop

An action-packed new TV spot for José Padilha’s RoboCop has been released, and it features plenty of great never before seen footage from the reboot.

Due to a number of recent high profile remakes of beloved classic movies such as this one, a lot of fans are obviously wary about whether or not this modern take on the character created by writers Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner (along with director Paul Verhoeven) will come anywhere near the 1987 original.

Hopefully a TV spot like this one will give moviegoers a better idea as to what to expect! Also below is a UK Omnicorp advertisement which doesn’t contain any new footage, but is a pretty cool way of promoting the movie.

RoboCop stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley and Michael Kenneth Williams. It’s set to be released in the US on February 12th and in the UK on February 7th.

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
