Don-Jon-PosterFollowing its debut at Sundance earlier in the year, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, Don Jon, will soon be making an anticipated return to the festival circuit, ahead of its US theatrical release next month.

The first trailer was really well received back in May, and a new trailer will hopefully be landing online soon. And after catching the first poster for the film a few weeks back, EW have debuted the new poster, which features Gordon-Levitt alongside Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore.

Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old fashioned guy. His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to “pull” a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn’t compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she’s determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

With Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza, Brie Larson, and Rob Brown starring alongside him, Gordon-Levitt has certainly assembled a promising cast. And if the early reviews out of Sundance are anything to go by – and they usually are – then this is sure to be a real favourite amongst audiences in a few weeks’ time.

Gordon-Levitt is directing from his own script, with Ram Bergman (Brick, Looper) returning to collaborate with the multi-hyphenate as producer on the project.

Don Jon will be released in the US earlier than expected next month on September 27th, with its UK release date set a little later on 15th November. For now, here’s the new poster, which you can click through to enlarge.
