Little did I know that when I got to meet Sulley and Mike at Pixar last month, they’d be returning to the big screen so soon! Well, I say so soon, we have 2 and a half years to wait yet!
There’s been rumours of a sequel to 2001 smash hit movie, Monsters Inc. for years now and the great news to all fans of the movie (isn’t that everyone?!) is that last night, Walt Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross announced that Monsters Inc. 2 is set for release in the US of 16th November 2012. Pete Doctor has also confirmed that he won’t be returning as director on the movie as the Up director is currently working on an unnamed project.
They’ve also had a movie called The Bear and Bow in the works for a while now and there were rumours around Pixar even when i was there that the movie may have it’s name changed to Brave (in fact this is what everyone was calling it while we were there). Brave will be hitting cinemas in the US June 15th 2012 and will feature voices from Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters.
According to Ross, Brave tells the story of an impulsive princess (Witherspoon) who aims to shed her royal ties and become the world’s first, great female archer. It will also be the first time that Pixar’s movie will be based around a female character.
