We posted a story in July concerning a comment made by Bruce Willis at Comic Con, where he revealed that production on Die Hard 5 was “imminent”.

It looks like his claim wasn’t quite accurate and during an interview with MTV (embedded below) for upcoming film Red, Willis apologies saying,  “I thought ‘imminent’ meant that you have a lot of ’em. So I have to apologize for that.”

Before you all start cursing the dirty-vested one for getting your hopes up, fear not, as he goes on to reveal that there’s a script being produced for the fifth installment and “it’s probably going to happen in 2011”.

Hey, if Stallone can revert back to his action man persona so close to retirement age, there’s no reason for Willis to think it’s time to hand in his badge (although let’s hope they aim for a more back-to-basics approach to the franchise, following 2008’s overblown action spectacle).
