I’m sure many of you had one question after viewing the trailer for 80’s horror remake Fright Night when it debuted a couple of weeks back – where was David Tennant?

Having been offered a fun glimpse of the Doctor Who star in his full regalia as Vegas illusionist-cum-vampire hunter Peter Vincent in a couple of recent stills, he was noticeably absent from the first live-action look at the film.

This has now been rectified in the second trailer for the film (which also stars Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell as his vampire neighbour) which was screened last night during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

They’ve certainly sexed up the role this time around (in the original the character was an aging, campy TV host who introduced midnight screening of cheesy horrors) but it looks like Vincent’s trajectory remains the same, as he can be seen (heavily) tooling himself up to take on the bloodsucking foe, and uttered a somewhat clichéd (yet entirely welcoming) line, “let’s kill something”.

You can see if he makes good on his declaration when the film is released in the UK on 2nd September.

Thanks to Shock Till You Drop.
