There haven’t been many films this year that have excited us, scared us, scarred us and had us just completely captivated, as S. Craig Zahler’s Brawl in Cell Block 99. We spoke to the pair about the film’s unrelenting commitment to brutality and violence, and whether or not Vince Vaughn really beat the crap out of that car. We speak about how important Vaughn’s height is to the role, and how well depicted the romantic narrative is within this unforgettable thriller. We also discuss the pair’s forthcoming project Dragged Across Concrete, where they collaborate yet again.
