Warner Bros has dropped the chilling first trailer for Clayface, marking a bold and unexpected turn for DC Studios as it dives headfirst into psychological horror. Directed by James Watkins, the film reimagines one of Gotham’s most tragic villains through a darker, more intimate lens.

At the heart of ‘Clayface’ is Tom Rhys Harries, who takes on the titular role of a once-promising Hollywood actor whose life spirals into something grotesque and unrecognisable. The trailer teases a transformation that feels less like a comic book spectacle and more like a slow-burning nightmare, where identity melts away like wax under a relentless spotlight.

The story charts a harrowing descent fuelled by obsession, fractured love, and dangerous experimentation. Fame, in this world, is not just fleeting; it’s corrosive. What begins as ambition curdles into something monstrous, leaving behind a man who can no longer distinguish his own face from the masks he once wore.

Joining Harries is an ensemble including Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan, alongside Nancy Carroll and Joshua James. With a screenplay penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, and a story crafted by Flanagan, ‘Clayface’ leans heavily into psychological and body horror.
