The first trailer for Brad Furman’s City of Lies, a story which delves into the actions of an LAPD detective and a journalist’s quest to find out exactly how Biggie Smalls was murdered, has landed.

Based on the adaptation of Randall Sullivan’s non-fiction book LAbyrinth, the film is directed by The Lincoln Lawyer’s Brad Furman and stars Johnny Depp, Forest Whittaker, Rockmond Dunbar, Xander Berkeley and Shea Whigham.

The story explores the police investigation of the unsolved murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls and the corruption within the Los Angeles police department.
