Christian Bale has played Batman and Moses, and now he looks set to add Steve Jobs to his impressive résumé. According to a new report, the actor has emerged as a frontrunner and is now in talks to play the late Apple co-founder. Jobs was written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network). Danny Boyle is directing.

Boyle is of course best known for movies like 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours and Trance.

The movie is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs, and Sorkin has previously revealed that the movie will be broken up into three lengthy scenes, each of which will take place backstage before the launch of famous Apple products. These are said to be the Mac, NeXT and, of course, the iPod.

Leonardo DiCaprio was circling the role but decided to pass in order to take some time off from acting. This was roughly around the same time that David Fincher decided not to direct this latest Steve Jobs biopic.

In more casting news, future Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is in talks to join the cast of Ben-Hur, the upcoming remake of the classic movie (which starred Charlton Heston) from Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.

Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) is set to take in the lead role, while Toby Kebbell (The Fantastic Four) will play his rival and onetime friend, Messala. Morgan Freeman has also joined the cast, and Gadot will play Esther, the slave with whom Ben-Hur falls in love with, if she decides to sign up to the project.

Deadline meanwhile report that Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal is being lined up to play Pontius Pilate.

Ben-Hur is set to start shooting early next year and is being lined up for a February 26th, 2016 release.
