Chris Pine has signed up to take the lead in the action thriller ‘Violence of Action’ from Thunder Road Films and 30West.

The Nile Hilton Incident’s Tarik Saleh will take the helm on a script from J.P. Davis.

The story will follow James Reed (Pine), a marine who was voluntary discharged, as he joins a paramilitary organization in order to support his family in the only way he knows how. Reed travels to Poland with his elite team on a black ops mission to investigate a mysterious threat. Barely into his first assignment, Reed finds himself alone and hunted in Eastern Europe, where he must fight to stay alive long enough to get home and uncover the true motives of those who betrayed him.

Production is due to commence in the Autumn.

Known for his work in TV Saleh has directed an episode of ‘Westworld’ and ‘Ray Donovan’, On the big screen Saleh has been at the helm of the Liam Neeson lead ‘Charlie Johnson in The Flames’.

Pine’s most recent projects include playing the role of Robert The Bruce in David McKenzie’s ‘Outlaw King’ and voicing one version of Peter Parker in Sony’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse’. He also recently reunited with Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins for the TV series ‘I Am The Night’ in which he plays a crime beat reporter. Pine will be returning in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ reprising his role of Steve Trevor. He is also attached to star in thriller ‘All The Old Knives’ alongside Michelle Williams.
