We still don’t know an awful lot about the direction of the Star Wars spinoff revolving around a young Han Solo, but it has now been confirmed that he’ll be joined by a familiar face.

As The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller get ready to take the helm of the movie, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed during Deutsche Bank’s 24th Annual Media, Internet and Telecom Conference that the 2018 release is “an origin story about Han Solo and Chewie.” In that case, it sounds like this movie will be all about their first meeting!

Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo

Based on the age of the actors Disney are looking at (names like Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco, Logan Lerman, Jack Reynor, and Miles Teller have been mentioned as being in the running), it makes sense that Chewie would factor into things, especially as this version of Han won’t be that many years younger than the one we met in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan wrote the screenplay for this currently untitled Han Solo movie, though with a release date of May 25th, 2018, it could be a while before we hear more. It is thought that Disney might choose their Han Solo soon though as he could make an appearance in Star Wars: Rogue One if some recent rumours are to be believed.
