Million Ways

Universal Pictures has released a new image from Seth MacFarlane’s next live-action movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West, in which the director and actor will be taking a distinctively less CG role than he did in Ted.

As you can see from the synopsis below, MacFarlane plays a cowardly farmer who loses his girlfriend when he backs out of a gunfight. That leads to him turning to the wife of a notorious outlaw for help, although he’s then faced with choosing between a new and old love, not to mention the problems which ensue when her outlaw husband returns to claim his woman!

After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man.  When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love.  But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

With an all-star cast which includes Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Neil Patrick Harris, MacFarlane is clearly hoping to find the same sort of box office success as he did with Ted. A trailer is expected to be released soon.

A Million Ways to Die in the West is set to be released in the US on May 30th, 2014.
