Channing-Tatum-in-Magic-Mike-sliceAfter Magic Mike became a smash-hit success at the box office back in the summer of 2012, turning its m. budget into almost 0m., it wasn’t long at all before talk turned to Magic Mike 2.

Channing Tatum confirmed in a Twitter Q&A that the sequel was happening, revealing that they’d already begun working on the concept, and were looking to flip the script and make the sequel even bigger.

Now Tatum has taken to Twitter once more to tease a photo of himself at work, starting to get underway on scripting the anticipated Magic Mike 2.

Whilst nothing’s officially confirmed yet, we’re naturally expecting to see some of the original cast, led by Alex Pettyfer, Cody Horn, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Olivia Munn, and of course Matthew McConaughey, returning for round two.

Tatum has previously spoken of considering making Magic Mike 2 his directorial debut, or co-directing with his producing partner Reid Carolin, who wrote and produced the original Magic Mike.

Either way, it’s great to see that the actor-turned-filmmaker has started work on the script, which will be his first feature as a screenwriter.

Tatum can currently be heard lending his voice as Superman in The Lego Movie, and will soon be seen in 22 Jump Street, Jupiter Ascending, and Foxcatcher, which between them are sure to be three of the biggest and(/or) best movies we’ll see all year.
