Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline are set to star in Alfonso Cuaron’s Apple series ‘Disclaimer.’

Based on the novel by Renee Knight, Blanchett will take on the role of a respected TV documentary journalist Catherine Ravenscroft whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions.

When a novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that reveals her darkest secret.

Cuaron will write, direct and executive produce all episodes. Emmanuel Lubezki (“Gravity”) and Bruno Delbonnel (“Inside Llewyn Davis”) will serve as directors of photography on the series.

The series will be Cuaron’s first project for Apple after signing a TV deal with the tech company. He is producing the original film ‘Raymond and Ray’ for the streamer’s recently launched internal studio.

Blancett is currently in preproduction on ‘Tar’ after having recently wrapped filming on ‘Borderlands’, ‘Don’t Look Up’, ‘Nightmare Alley’ and ‘Pinocchio.’
