Beasts of No Nation has already caused quite a stir, not only for its deeply impactful material – focusing on child soldiers – but for distributed by Netflix, in a record breaking deal to premiere to the show exclusively on the streaming service.

Directed by Jane Eyre and True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga and starring Idris Elba, it’s the young talent Abraham Attah who steals the show, and we had the pleasure of sitting down with the star, and the film’s director – to discuss the daunting prospect in hiring a child for the leading role, and the implications on the industry of having such a high-profile film go straight to Netflix.

If you thought Abraham Attah was sweet in the movie – in real life he’s even more so. Check out this hilarious clip below where the young actor attempts to shoehorn an answer into the interview…

Beasts of No Nation will premiere exclusively on Netflix on October 16th.
