Carrie-PosterChloë Grace Moretz is front and centre of the new Carrie remake, due out just in time for Halloween in the US, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table for the horror film.

The anticipated horror remake sees Moretz take the titular lead as Carrie White. And after catching a brilliant first teaser trailer late last year, Sony have debuted the first full-length trailer, and it gives us an awesome taste of the horrors to come.

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Moretz is joined by a terrific ensemble, led by Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Alex Russell.

Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee). Aguirre-Sacasa is making his feature debut as a writer, adaptating the classic novel by Stephen King.

Brian De Palma’s 1976 film of the same name brought home two Oscar nominations, with Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie taking the leading roles as Carrie and her mother, Margaret. And though we don’t expect to see any Oscar nominations this time around, we do expect the film to be one of the best horrors of the year, with Carrie and this month’s Evil Dead remake being very much the two horror movies to beat this year.

Carrie will be released in the US on October 18th, with its UK release date set a little later on 29th November. For now, here’s the brilliant first full-length trailer, to help raise your anticipation. Enjoy and let us know what you think in the comments below. Does the trailer give too much away?
