Ultron

Walt Disney Company CEO and Chairman Robert Iger confirmed in a call to investors and analysts on Wednesday that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will “set critical events in motion” for Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

There have recently been rumours about the after-credits scene of the Anthony and Joe Russo helmed movie which backs up these comments, and it would certainly make sense, especially as Guardians of the Galaxy is more likely to have ties to the third Avengers movie rather than the second.

Iger also confirmed that the events of the Captain America sequel will have an impact on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He added, “I’ve really been impressed with the early buzz that we’re seeing for the Marvel films. Captain America 2 is just huge and it takes the Captain America story to incredible new levels.”

Starring Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Frank Grillo, Felicity Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Samuel L. Jackson, and Robert Redford, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D in the UK on 26th March and in the US on April 4th.

A couple of new stills focusing on Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow from Captain America: The Winter Soldier have also found their way online recently.
