From a hole in the ground to a hole in the wall.

Despite not yet having been released, Buried’s writer Chris Sparling has nevertheless picked up new work on the strength of his upcoming Ryan Reynold’s vehicle. The film, ATM, already has David Brooks attached to direct and its three lead roles filled out by Josh Peck (The Wackness), Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) and Margarita Levieva (Adventureland).

According to THR, ATM is the tale of tree co-workers (Peck, Geraghty and Levieva) who find themselves fighting for their lives after making a late night trip to the titular cash machine.

With the studio hoping to evoke a Hitchcockian vibe, and a high-concept premise that provokes comparison to 2003’s Phone Booth, 2004’s Cellular and the upcoming Buried, this may well be one to watch. That is, if Buried lives up to its already towering expectations.

Buried is unearthed stateside on 8th October, 2010.
