Universal Pictures UK has released a new trailer for ‘Bugonia,’ the latest film from Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, reuniting him with frequent collaborator Emma Stone.

The offbeat sci-fi satire also stars Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone, and will arrive in cinemas in October 2025.

The trailer teases a surreal, unsettling, and darkly comic ride. At its core, ‘Bugonia’ follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap a high-powered CEO (Stone), convinced she’s not human at all but an alien plotting Earth’s destruction. What begins as a paranoid abduction spirals into a bizarre power struggle, where truth, delusion, and reality blur in classic Lanthimos fashion.

With unnerving humour, striking visuals, and a razor-edged commentary on paranoia and power, ‘Bugonia’ promises to be one of 2025’s most daring and conversation-sparking releases.
