Despite not being able to understand a word of this first trailer for Hotel Transylvania (it’s a Russian international trailer), I still love it, which is a very good sign.

We got a great look at the film last week with the first images surfacing, and now this impressive first trailer has me even more excited about what will almost certainly be one of the best animated films of the year.

“Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them.  On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday.  For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.”

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Lab. creator/director), we can look forward to the likes of Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Cee Lo Green, Fran Descher, and David Spade lending their voices for the film.

Granted, we can’t hear what any of them sound like just yet, because the trailer’s been dubbed into Russian, but the visuals alone are absolutely terrific.

Hotel Transylvania will be released in 3D in the US on 21st September, before coming to the UK a little later for its debut here on 12th October. Anybody else loving the look of this as well?
