Academy Award® winner Brendan Fraser has been cast in ‘Pressure,’ joining the recently announced Andrew Scott in the role of Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg.
Fraser takes on the role of Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower.
In the seventy-two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element – the British weather. Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Andrew Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on.
With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser).

With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.
Based on the extraordinary true story of the three-day run-up to D-Day, Anthony Maras (Hotel Mumbai) will direct the feature film, which will start shooting in the UK this September.
Olivier award-winner David Haig and Anthony Maras wrote the screenplay based on Haig’s critically lauded play, which enjoyed a hugely successful run in London’s West End, before going on to be performed for Her Majesty The Queen and world leaders to mark the D-Day 75th anniversary in 2019. The film adaptation will be produced by STUDIOCANAL & Working Title.
Fraser starred in Darren Aronofsky’s, ‘The Whale,’ which premiered in December 2022 and earned him several awards including his first Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Most recently, Fraser can be seen in a supporting role in Martin Scorsese’s new Epic Western, ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon,’ alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone. Other recent works for Fraser include Steven Soderbergh’s ‘No Sudden Move’ for HBOMax, as well as ‘Doom Patrol,’ the hit HBOMax/DC Entertainment series, where he stars as Cliff Steele and is the voice of Robotman. He can also be seen in ‘Line of Descent’ a crime narrative that follows the relationship between a mafia family and an undercover officer.
