Bollywood releases tend to be a bit top heavy (in terms of release schedule, shame on you cheeky monkeys) so with the end of the year creeping closer, we are getting a barrage of exciting trailer in B-town and here is a wrap up of the most exciting ones.

A remake of the 90’s classic Amitab Bachchan starrer, this time the movie is getting updated with Hritik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt and with first time director Karan Malhotra.

Produced by Dharma productions a powerhouse of a team which have delivered massive hits like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and My Name is Khan earlier, this is quite a departure from their usual candyfloss. And probably the most awaited movie on our list. Just watch the trailer. You will understand. (there is a more detailed trailer breakdown on Upodcast, click here)

The Dirty Picture

A fictionalized biography of Silk Smitha, the Southern glamour actress of the 80’s, Vidya Balan puts on a bit of weight and sets the screen on fire by doing so. Both the trailer and the poster tease us quite a bit with the sensuality of the sexy siren but her story does end quite sadly.

Director Milan Luthria and Producer Ekta Kapoor have been on a roll lately and their previous release Once Upon a Time in Mumbai was a massive hit, which also took a nostalgic look at the underworld of Mumbai.

The trailer is hot!

The Dirty Picture 2/12/11 in India (UK not confirmed yet)

Ranbhir Kapoor is the next big thing in Bollywood, I am sure we can all agree on that. Not only does he have the power of his surname behind him which is acting royalty in India, but he also manages to balance out commercial hits with off beat projects that also become well… hits.

This is directing wunderkind Imtiaz Ali’s follow up to Love Aaj Kal, the biggest hit of his career but my favorite is still Jab We Met, a contemporary take on the Bolly-Rom Com ( and one of the best date movies or intro to Bollywood movies around)

Rockstar release 11/11/11 in the UK

Ra.One’s Chammak Challoo

The Reinging King Of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan is leaving now stone unturned from his upcoming Sci Fi movie Ra.One, the trailers have been doing the round of the internet for a while. But now they have released the first promotional track from the soundtrack sung In HINDI ( and doing a pretty good job at it) by chartopper Akon. We also see Kareena Kapoor in a smashing red saree, and after The Dirty picture trailer aren’t you convinced that a red saree is one of the most sexy attires possible?
