Debuting at Sundance earlier in the year, Richard Linklater returns to the big screen next month with Before Midnight.

Following on from the acclaimed Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, the third film in the series comes nine years after the last time we saw Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy together on screen.

The first trailer gave us a very promising look at the upcoming drama, and with just over a month before the film arrives in the US, EW have released a new poster for the film.

In “Before Midnight,” we meet Celine and Jesse 9 years on. Almost 2 decades have passed since that first meeting on a train bound for Vienna, and we now find them in their early 40?s in Greece. Before the clock strikes midnight, we will again become part of their story.

Hawke and Delpy of course take the leads here once more, starring alongside Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, Ariane Labed, Athina Rachel Tsangari, and Yota Argyropoulou.

Linklater is behind the camera, directing from another script that he co-wrote with Hawke and Delpy.

The film has been earning strong early reviews – at time of writing, its Metacritic score, for instance, stands tall at 99 out of 100, albeit from only five reviews. But, at the very least, that number ought to be a good indication for fans of the first films.

Before Midnight will be screening tonight as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. It will then begin its release in the US on May 24th, with Sony Classics set to give it a limited release at first, opening it up wider across the country in successive weeks. And its UK release date is set for this summer on 21st June. Here’s the new poster to get you in the mood.
