The 79th British Academy Film Awards were broadcast from London in a star-studded ceremony hosted by actor Alan Cumming. Films from around the globe competed across 25+ categories, with several standout titles and performances earning the evening’s highest honours.
By the end of the evening, it was ‘One Battle After Another’ that stood tallest, marching away with six BAFTAs, including Best Film and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson.
Close behind was ‘Sinners,’ collecting four awards, including Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler and Original Score for Ludwig Göransson.
Gothic spectacle ‘Frankenstein’ dominated the craft categories with four wins, sweeping Production Design, Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, and adding serious technical muscle to its awards haul.
British literary adaptation ‘Hamnet’ earned two major wins, including Outstanding British Film and Leading Actress for Jessie Buckley.
Drama ‘I Swear’ also secured three awards, with Robert Aramayo winning Leading Actor and the EE Rising Star Award, alongside a Casting victory.
