Arguably Taken was the film which gave a not unnecessary edge of definition to Liam Neeson’s career casting him as it did in the role of a softly spoken yet rock hard action hero, a modern mumblehardcore man.

Unsurprisingly the notion of a sequel was thrust into our faces and four years after Pierre Morel’s film comes Taken 2 and there’s a new poster of the man himself sitting in a chair to prove it.

How they didn’t call this Re-Taken, or Taken Aback, or ANYTHING OTHER THAN TAKEN 2 is beyond me. It feels like it’s missing a subtitle, and could be TAKEN 2: The Zoo or somesuch.

Anyhoo, petulant grumbling aside the wonderfully named Olivier Megaton pulls on the directorial trousers for this one and no doubt Maggie Graces’s character will be back a little older but probably not much wiser.

Here’s the poster,
