Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producing the film through Atlas Entertainment, as well as Avi Arad and Ari Arad through Arad Productions. Sony’s PlayStation Productions — headed by Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan — will also have a hand in producing.

The film has been in development for a number of years with Wahlberg initially lined up to play Drake. But with the passing years, it appears age has been a major factor in casting of the male lead.  At that point, David O. Russell was on board to direct.

Banderas comes hot of his Oscar nominee for his performance in Pedro Almodovar’s ‘Pain and Glory’.  He can also be seen in Netflix feature ‘The Laundromat’. His upcoming appearance will be in ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds.
