Anne Hathaway is stepping into one of the most challenging roles of her career.

The Academy Award-winning actress will star in and executive produce ‘Fear Not,’ a new limited series set to premiere globally on Paramount+ next year. Written by Bash Doran (Outlaw King, Boardwalk Empire), the series explores a chilling true story where violence, faith and humanity collide in unexpected ways.

‘Fear Not’ tells the story of Stephen Morin, a prolific serial killer accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy, and the extraordinary bond he formed with Margy Palm, the final woman he ever kidnapped. Hathaway portrays Palm, whose abduction initially unfolds as a terrifying, life-or-death ordeal before taking a startling and deeply emotional turn.

Rather than being defined solely by fear, Palm’s captivity becomes marked by compassion, prayer and remarkable courage. Her unwavering devotion to her faith and her belief that Morin could be transformed reshaped their relationship, forging a connection that endured long after she was returned to safety. That bond persisted until Morin was ultimately sentenced to death, raising unsettling and profound questions about redemption, forgiveness and the limits of human empathy.

The limited series is based on the Vanity Fair article “Sympathy for the Devil” by Julie Miller, which chronicled Palm’s experience and the unlikely relationship that emerged from unimaginable circumstances.

Alongside Hathaway and Doran, ‘Fear Not’ is executive produced by Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures, Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios, Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures, and Margy, Bart and Noelle Palm.

Hathaway also has ‘Mother Mary,’ ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2,’ ‘The Odyssey,’ ‘Verity’ and ‘Flowervale Street’ coming out in 2026.
