As preview nights go at San Diego Comic-Con, James Wan made it one to get tongues wagging. The Conjuring filmmaker has announced that he will be gracing us with a third Annabelle.

Both Wan and IT and Annabelle: Creation writer,  Gary Dauberman made the announcement that the third film was currently in development. Dauberman will be returning to pen the script and will make his directorial debut with the picture.

This time around The Warrens will feature prominently in the film and this time, Annabella has her sights firmly set on the 10-year-old daughter of the paranormal investigators.

I’m still finalizing the script, but it really picks up with the Warrens bringing Annabelle to the place where it can really no longer wreak havoc, which is their artefact room. But, of course, it turns out she can also wreak havoc there. And she really awakens the evil within that room and they target the Warrens’ 10-year-old daughter, Judy. So, that’s the set-up.

Wan went on to give a little insight into what we can expect from the third making a confusing comparison to Night at the Museum.

Annabelle basically activates all the other haunted artefacts in that room. So, it’s basically A Night at the Museum, with Annabelle!

Annabelle: Creation was a prequel to 2014’s Annabelle and the fourth instalment in The Conjuring series. The film has grossed over $305 million worldwide.

The film will be produced by Wan’s Atomic Monster and the Peter Safran Co. It is also scheduled to appear in cinemas July 3rd 2019.
