Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks and Director Jake Scott are interviewed by DaniElle DeLaite for their forthcoming movie American Woman. The duo star alongside Breaking Bad & Westworld’s Aaron Paul as well as Amy Madigan, Sky Ferreria, Alex Neustaedter, Macon Blair and Kelly Golden. There are mild spoilers for the film in the interview.

The pair talk about the challenges of making the film and being delighted with the fully-rounded characters. They also mention how the fluid dynamic between their two characters enhances the intensity of the film greatly.

Director Jake Scott talks about the character-based dramas that he grew up loving and how they influenced his decision to take on the role. Scott also opens up about filming the traumatic final shot they filmed and how that scene brings everything to a head for the end of the film.

Plot:

A woman raises her young grandson after her daughter goes missing. In a small, blue-collar town in Pennsylvania, a 32-year-old woman’s teen daughter goes missing and she is left to raise her infant grandson alone. The story is told over the course of 11 years, from the time her daughter vanishes, through the the trials-and-tribulations of subsequent years looking for closure, leading up the long-awaited discovery of the truth.
