Curzon Film has today revealed the official trailer for ‘ALPHA,’ the atmospherically haunting and deeply humanistic new drama from Palme d’Or-winning filmmaker Julia Ducournau (Raw, Titane).

A quiet revolution in genre filmmaking, ‘ALPHA’ follows thirteen-year-old Alpha (a remarkable Mélissa Boros) whose life with her mother (Farahani) is suddenly upended as a mysterious virus begins to ravage society. Ducournau once again fuses body horror with intimate emotion, crafting a visceral coming-of-age story that explores the fragility of human connection amid chaos.

Building on the boundary-pushing style of her acclaimed films ‘RAW’ and ‘TITANE,’ Ducournau takes another daring step forward with ALPHA, using horror conventions to tell a profoundly personal story. The film immerses viewers in a world of social panic and paranoia, evoking the fear, stigma, and irrational responses that accompany illness — while probing deeper into trauma, memory, and the uneasy relationship between the sensing body and the thinking mind.

Told across shifting timelines that intentionally blur past and present, Ducournau’s latest work mirrors the fragmentation of memory and the disorientation of psychological distress.
