After starring in Testament of Youth and Ex Machina, Alicia Vikander is on something of a roll. She’ll next be seen in Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and has now been confirmed as starring in 2016’s Bourne 5.

That movie is reuniting director Paul Greengrass with star Matt Damon for the Bourne movie everyone has been hoping would happen since The Bourne Ultimatum. With good news though, comes some bad.

Vikander’s decision to join the fifth Bourne movie means that she has had to drop out of Justin Kurzel’s upcoming big screen adaptation of hit video game series Assassin’s Creed. That will star Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard and reunited the trio after they worked together on the upcoming Macbeth movie.

Her schedule simply meant that the Swedish actress couldn’t star in both. It’s a shame, but Vikander starring in either one would have made them worth getting even more excited over. It just so happens to be Bourne!

Vikander will soon be seen in The Danish Girl, Tulip Fever, Adam Jones, and The Light Between Oceans.

Greengrass is writing the Bourne 5 screenplay with Christopher Rouse. Frank Marshall is producing, and it was recently revealed that franchise favourite Julia Stiles is set to reprise her role in the anticipated movie.
