We reported on news last August that Piranha 3D helmer Alexandre Aja had acquired the rights to a sci-fi manga series Cobra: The Space Pirate, with the intention of making it his next directorial venture.
Now, a very fine piece of promo art (which has a touch of Boris Vallejo about it) has popped up online for the film. From a script by Aja and regular co-scribe Gregory Levasseur, Cobra is the tale of a notorious rogue pirate whose refusal to align with the United Galaxies Federation or the Pirates Guild means a huge bounty is slapped on his head.
Casting has yet to be announced, but the gentlemen posing on this poster, bears more than a passing resemblance to a bleached-blond Vincent Gallo.
Now that’s a film I would rush out to see!
