Netflix is setting the stage for an intimate and emotionally layered drama, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson officially attached to star in its upcoming limited series adaptation of ‘Enigma,’ based on the novel by André Aciman.
The ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’ star will play Paul, a man whose life is shaped and reshaped by a series of profound romantic relationships over the course of a decade.

The official logline teases a sweeping yet deeply personal journey: Paul is “a man remade by the lovers who ignite and undo him across ten transformative years.” The story promises to explore the complexities of masculinity, sexuality, and modern love, asking a quietly devastating question at its core: in a world overflowing with choice, will we even recognise when we’ve found the one?
The series is being adapted for television by A.K. Shuman, who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer. Directing duties fall to Oliver Hermanus. Production will be handled by Media Res, with executive producers Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer representing the company. Aciman himself will also executive produce alongside Monica Levinson.
