Johnson and Law would star opposite Keira Knightley (Never Let Me Go) in the Joe Wright-directed adaptation.

Anna Karenina, one of many adaptations of Leo Tolstoy’s acclaimed novel, will tell the story of a restless high-society wife (Knightley) who ruins her life after straying from her kind-but-boring husband with an exciting-but-unreliable charmer.

Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love) wrote the screenplay and production is expected to get underway in the Autumn.
