Disney+ has today unveiled the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the critically acclaimed Original series ‘A Thousand Blows,’ which returns on January 9, streaming exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
The new season brings audiences back to the unforgiving streets of 1880s East End London, where survival is everything and loyalty can be deadly. BAFTA winner Malachi Kirby (Small Axe) reprises his role as Hezekiah Moscow, alongside Emmy award winners Erin Doherty (Adolescence) as the fearless Forty Elephants leader Mary Carr, and Stephen Graham (Adolescence) as the broken but dangerous Henry ‘Sugar’ Goodson.
Set one year after the explosive events of season one, Hezekiah is a shell of his former self, while Sugar Goodson has spiralled into isolation and drink. But the fragile balance of Wapping is shattered when Mary Carr storms back into town with her loyal lieutenant Alice Diamond (Darci Shaw), determined to rebuild her empire and reclaim her crown. Mary’s new plan promises high stakes and deadly consequences — even for those she loves most.
The returning ensemble includes James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Walters, Nadia Albina, and Daniel Mays, with newcomers Ned Dennehy and Catherine McCormack joining the cast.
Created by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, House of Guinness), ‘A Thousand Blows’ continues its gritty exploration of ambition, revenge, and resilience in a world where power is everything.
