Ever think trailers give too much away? Well if that’s the case click away from this post now as a 9 minute Chinese trailer for Matt Damon’s The Great Wall has landed online.

The Great Wall comes from director Zhang Yimou and alongside Damon stars Willem Dafoe, Pedro Pascal, Tian Jing, Numan Acar, Zhang Hanyu,  Andy Lau, Han Lu, Kenny Lin and and Eddie Peng.

The movie is centered around the construction of The Great Wall of China and ask you’ll see form this epic trailer, the movie is action packed and looks visually stunning. The opening few minutes are in English with the remaining seven in (I believe – and please correct me if I’m wrong!) Chinese introducing the characters to the film.

The film is set for release in the UK early 2017. We’ve already had one 2 minute trailer and this trailer (of group of movie trailers) gives us much more of a feel of what we can expect.

Universal are distrubiting the film which along with the blurb states that it’s become the most expensive movie ever made entirely in China at $135m USD.

The Great Wall Synopsis

Set in the Northern Song Dynasty, the story is about mysteries centered around the construction of the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall is directed by acclaimed Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, of the films The Road Home, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Flower, The Flowers of War, and Coming Home most recently. The screenplay is by Tony Gilroy, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro; from an original story by Thomas Tull and Max Brooks. This is one of Legendary Pictures co-productions with China. It is the most expensive film ever shot entirely in China with a budget of $135 million.
