The 69th BFI London Film Festival (8–19 October 2025), in partnership with American Express, has unveiled an exceptional line-up of Screen Talks, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear directly from some of the most influential voices in global cinema.

This year’s programme of in-depth conversations will feature:

  • Daniel Day-Lewis (Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood)

  • Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness)

  • Richard Linklater (Boyhood, Dazed and Confused)

  • Jafar Panahi (The White Balloon, No Bears)

  • Lynne Ramsay (Morvern Callar, We Need to Talk About Kevin)

  • Tessa Thompson (Thor: Love and Thunder, Passing)

  • Chloé Zhao (The Rider, Nomadland)

The Screen Talks series has long been one of the most anticipated highlights of the Festival, shining a spotlight on the artistry, craft, and careers of world-renowned filmmakers and performers.

Festival Highlights

BFI Southbank will once again serve as the vibrant hub for the Festival’s competition programme, Screen Talks, and the popular LFF for Free events. Alongside screenings in London, the Festival will also bring films to audiences across the UK with partner venues, ensuring a truly nationwide celebration of cinema.

For those unable to attend in person, a specially curated collection of past and present LFF titles will be made available to stream on BFI Player, further extending the Festival’s reach.

Dates and Tickets

The full programme for the 69th BFI London Film Festival will be revealed on Wednesday 3 September 2025, with tickets going on sale from 16 September. As always, BFI Members will have the opportunity to book ahead of the general public.

The Festival runs from Wednesday 8 October to Sunday 19 October 2025.
