Nintendo 3DSSo, for those of you willing to fork out the Nintendo’s new groundbreaking (and PS3-priced) 3D handheld, be warned that it comes with a notable caveat.

Kotaku reports that Nintendo is placing the battery life of the system between 3 and 5 hours.

On the plus side, that’s only when the machine is using its full wireless and 3D capabilities, and – if the bum-numbing googly-eye sparking experiences we’ve had in cinemas are anything to go by – it’s unlikely you’ll want to play any more after staring at the comparatively tiny screen for over 5 hours anyway.

The Big N went on to estimate that playing the console sans 3D (which kind of defeats the point) will extend the battery life to up to eight hours. Similarly, shutting down the wireless or dimming the screen will increase play time even longer.

The 3DS will hit UK stores on March 25.
