Jason-Schwartzman-Bill-Murray-and-Charlie-Sheen-in-A-Glimpse-Inside-the-Mind-of-Charles-Swan-IIIRoman Coppola’s A Brief Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III is naturally one of the most anticipated indie movies of 2013, with Charlie Sheen taking the lead in the eponymous role.

The film premiered to positive early reviews last week in Rome, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted three new images, giving us our first look at the brilliant Aubrey Plaza, as well as a new look at Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman alongside Sheen.

“The film, set in a stylized Los Angeles, is a daring, playful comedy of lost love, friendship, revenge fantasies, and Brandy Alexanders. Charles (Charlie Sheen) is a successful graphic designer whose fame, money andcharm have provided him with a seemingly perfect life. When his true love, a perplexing beauty named Ivana, suddenly breaks off their relationship, Charles’ life falls apart and he swirls into a downward spiral of doubt, confusion and reflection. With the support of his loyal intimates— Kirby (Jason Schwartzman), Saul (Bill Murray), and his sister, Izzy (Patricia Arquette) — he begins the hard road of self-evaluation to come to terms with a life without Ivana. The film begs the question: Is it possible to love and hate someone at the same time?”

Starring alongside Sheen, Murray, Plaza, and Schwartzman will be Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Katheryn Winnick, and Patricia Arquette, making for one of the best casts we have to look forward to next year.

Coppola is directing from his own script, and is making his sophomore effort behind the camera, having worked in recent years alongside Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, and Francis Ford Coppola (the latter being his sister and father).

No word yet on when we can expect A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III to reach theatres, but A24 have already acquired the film for its US distribution, and here’s to hoping that it will be coming our way, in the UK and US, very early in 2013. I can’t wait. For now, here are the great new images, which you can click through to enlarge.
