Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated Looper hits theatres today, and after earning universal critical acclaim – you can read our own review here – since its debut at TIFF, things are looking excellent for Johnson’s reunion with the ever-brilliant Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Gordon-Levitt takes the lead alongside Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt, and we’ve got two epic TV spots for the film to share as it heads to the big screen today.
“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.
The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”
Johnson is directing once more from his own script, with Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt completing the cast nicely.

Looper is released in the US and UK today, 28th September, and if you’re planning on taking a trip to the multiplex this weekend, this is definitely the film that should be at the top of your list; it’s certainly at the top of mine. It looks incredible. The sci-fi action film of the year. Enjoy.
