The X-Files isn’t the only show that Fox is bringing back, as both 24 and Prison Break are set to return to the small screen. In the case of the former, Kiefer Sutherland obviously reprised the role of Jack Bauer last year, but he won’t be at the centre of this new series. Instead, it’ll be a new twentysomething terrorist hunter.

Howard Gordon revealed these plans in a recent interview, and it sounds like Jack won’t be back at all this time, a fact which is sure to be off putting to many long time 24 fans. There’s a chance he could show up of course, but this new male antihero will apparently work alongside “an older, more seasoned female agent.”

Just as annoyingly as Bauer not returning is the fact that that female character won’t be Yvonne Strahovski’s Kate Morgan, a character many fans gravitated towards and hoped would be the focus of a future spinoff.

In slightly more exciting news, plans are being put in place to bring back Prison Break as a limited series. The show originally ran from 2005 – 2009, and concluded with a TV movie. Interestingly, it will re-team Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as the brothers who constantly found themselves…well…breaking out of places! The duo can currently be seen as Captain Cold and Heat Wave in comic book series The Flash.

We’ll have to wait and see how both of these come together, but which are you most looking forward to?
