Posting at the appropriate time of 7.00am this morning the team behind the latest James Bond film are allowing us to peep behind the curtain and take a look at the film’s production, which is jolly decent of them.

Taking a leaf out of Peter Jackson’s book (in the most recent case The Hobbit) director Sam Mendes is reporting from set of Bond 23, otherwise known as Skyfall, and the first of the videoblogisodes is up on 007.com

Mendes was long rumoured for the job of directing Daniel Craig’s third Bond movie and he teased us yesterday with this quote,

The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old. I’ve always been a fan of the movies.

There’s little doubt that Skyfall is an important next step for the series, with Daniel Craig’s second outing as Bond in Quantum of Solace disappointing many (though not me, I rather liked it) all eyes will be on what Mendes has in store for Craig’s Bond but the supporting cast of Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Noamie Harris, Ben Wishaw and Dame Judi Dench is enticing to say the least.

Here’s the video,
