Rian Johnson’s Looper will be making its world premiere opening the Toronto International Film Festival in just under two weeks, and the anticipation is running on high.

With writer-director Johnson reuniting with his Brick star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, you can’t help but expect something amazing, and I have a feeling this is going to be the best sci-fi/action film of the year.

We got a brilliant new poster from the film yesterday, and now two new character posters have made their way online, giving us a look at Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis in full, where we’ve been so used to seeing them on the one-sheet half-and-half in recent months.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”

Emily Blunt completes the awesome leading trio, with excellent support headed up by Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt.

Looper will be debuting at TIFF as the opening film, before heading into theatres just a few weeks later on 28th September in the US and UK. This is going to be immense. As usual, you can click these new posters to enlarge.
