3. Batman vs. Superman

Batman vs Superman

Zack Snyder is bringing Batman and Superman to the big screen together in 2016’s Dawn of Justice, but that’s not the first time Warner Bros. have tried it.

Written by Akiva Goldsman, this version sounds extremely bleak and not in the least bit appealing to comic book fans or regular moviegoers. Batman vs. Superman (which Wolfgang Peterson was set to direct) featured a retired Bruce Wayne who was alone after the deaths of Alfred, Jim Gordon and Nightwing, and he was set to be joined by a recently divorced Clark Kent who would later see his ex-wife murdered by The Joker.

This was all connected to Lex Luthor and after being tricked into fighting each other, they teamed up to go after him. On the surface, it sounds ok, but there are much better ways to unite these two and the studio decided they’d make more by focusing on solo outings.
