Despite the fact that their last live-action movie has been hailed as ending Sean Connery’s big screen career, 20th Century Fox are apparently moving ahead with a reboot of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

This time however, it sounds like they’re planning to turn the comic book property into a huge franchise.

That makes a lot of sense, especially as there were a number of volumes in Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s critically acclaimed series. It appears as if it’s still early days for this take on The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen anyway, as a director has yet to be found. John Davis (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) is producing.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen stars a group of Victiorian literature characters including Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Mina Harker of Dracula.

The 2003 movie was not even remotely faithful to the source material, and Alan Moore hated it. However, he hates the adaptations of all his work and threw shade at a The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen remake when a small screen remake was rumoured back in 2013. There’s no word on a release date for this version.
