A little earlier this week, we spoke to Clark Gregg about what’s to come in season three of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the actor dropped some huge hints about the Secret Warriors becoming the focus.

You can check out the video below for the scoop on that as well as his thoughts on everything from how the Marvel series will tie into Captain America: Civil War to Ward’s chances of redemption and Spider-Man’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Going back to the Secret Warriors, they have now been confirmed!

According to ABC, season three will introduce new friends and foes inspired by the critically acclaimed “Secret Warriors” comic series. In the aftermath of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s battle with Jiaying and the Inhumans, Director Coulson will search the world for more powered people and assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen. However, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will soon find out they’re not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans. Could Ward’s HYDRA unit be their main foes next season?

That remains to be seen, and despite the fact that Marvel’s movie division are sitting out Comic-Con this year, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be. They’ll be hosting a panel on Friday and giving out “Secret Warriors” pins to a few select fans who are then asked to Tweet photos of themselves with “#SHIELDSecretWarriors”.

The Secret Warriors coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is exciting news indeed, and the involvement of a team of superpowered individuals is what many fans have been hoping to see since the show was first announced!
